Fountain Hill
Fountain Hill, Designed by Clara Masessa, is knitted in Kraemer Yarns Fountain Hill. This beautifully soft, fingering weight yarn creates a supple sweater with large needles and an airy pattern.
Because this garment is knitted in a very loose gauge it is hard to make sure two pieces are the same length. We highly recommended that you knit the front and back at the same time on the same needle to make sure they will be the same length. It is also recommended you do the same for the sleeves.
To shape or NOT to shape...You have so many choices with the Fountain Hill top. Before you generate the pattern, decide whether you want a cropped length or classic, hip length. Enter your preference with the Lower edge to underarm measurement.
For the cropped length, select the "Knit body without shaping" option. (There just isn't enoug length to shape for waist and bust.)
For a more classic length, select the "Knit body with custom shaping" option, or choose no shaping for a boxy shape.
Yarn Yardage Requirements
While we would like to offer a simple yarn estimate in our custom patterns, however, the amount of yarn you will need will depend on choices you make like whether to make the garment a cropped or tunic length. We've anticipated that, and we have created charts that allow you to estimate yarn needed based on your choice of wieght as well as length. Please refer to our yarn estimation charts and read the article for helpful hints on how to estmate the amount of yarn you will need.
